Job Descriptions:

We are currently seeking a Sr Electrical Engineering Design Professional to join our team. As a Sr Electrical Engineering Design Professional, you will be leading the design of electrical systems including electrical power distribution (medium voltage systems through 35 KV), lighting, daylighting, renewable energy (CHP & Solar), communications, security, and fire alarm systems for sustainable higher education, science & technology, healthcare, and mission critical projects.

SKILLS

  • Attend project progress meetings, provide updates for Project Manager (including field reviews to monitor project construction status)
  • Coordinate electrical requirements with other disciplines involved in the project design team
  • Collaboration in multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners.
  • Plan project resources, maintaining schedules and budget.
  • Active listening skills and the ability to resolve conflict within teams and client.
  • Ability to provide electrical design and performance specifications for lighting, lighting controls, power and low voltage system.
  • Develops single line diagrams, riser diagrams and similar project documents
  • Engineering calculations, equipment sizing and selection for low, medium and high voltage systems.
  • Survey and evaluate existing conditions.
  • Construction administration.
  • Maintain master and project specifications, keep current based on changes in codes, technology, and/or improved methodologies.
  • Actively seeks new knowledge related to engineering practices, principles and regulations changes.
  • Mentoring and sharing work experience knowledge for the benefit of other employees and the office.
  • Other tasks as needed to ensure timely and thorough support to our clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering,
  • 10+ years of experience in MEP consulting
  • Electrical, PE
  • Knowledge and experience with medium voltage and on-site power generation systems
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes.
  • Advanced Knowledge of IEEE standards and compliance requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Able to lay out electrical equipment rooms, maintaining code-required clearances.
  • Advanced knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of plans, sections diagrams and equipment schedules, and drawings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge about sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills – written and oral
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work in team environment.
