Description:
Simkar is currently seeking an experienced, self-motivated Electrical Engineer for a full time employment opportunity. Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably 5 plus years of experience with Lighting and Power design. Candidate will work on a broad range of projects from commercial and municipal to industrial. Some knowledge of Design Master and REVIT is a plus. Successful candidates should have a strong understanding of the Lighting Industry, LED power supplies and related controls also, a strong knowledge of PCB circuit design and fabrication with emphasis in LED sources. Successful candidates will be production oriented and adaptable. Must be capable of working with architects, contractors and other members of the design team.

Typical Functions:
The functions of this position will vary but basic functions will include:

• Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity, electronics and materials.
• Evaluates AC/DC power supply systems designs
• Confirms system’s and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
• Understands design, operation, and maintenance of electrical transmission and distribution systems and equipment.
• Understands and designs control systems using WIFI, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Mesh networks.
• Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.

Requirements:
Candidate should have a degree in Electrical engineering, 5 plus years of experience. Have good understanding of engineering concepts pursuant to product design. Candidate should also have 3D CAD skills, preferably with Solid Works. Strong organizational, written, verbal skills and high attention to detail are a must. Knowledge and experience with UL/ELT and DLC (Design Lighting Consortium) requirements and qualification processes is preferred. Occasional travel required with overnight stay.
