A 34 year old non-profit organization that serves the Philadelphia community with energy conservation, heating system repair is looking for an experienced licensed electrician to work in our low-income weatherization and heater repair/replacement programs. The nature of the work will include attic re-wires, dedicated lines and new service installs in addition to electrical work at our facility including Solar PV.
We will provide a 40 hour work week, company vehicle, uniforms and all necessary training.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Must have 5 years experience as an electrician
- Familiarity with Safe Work Practices
- Must have basic Math and reading skills
- Philadelphia electrical license.
Work Experience and Skills:
- Perform physical activities that require climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling materials up to 75 lbs
- Familiar with knob and tube wiring
- Working knowledge of all electrical materials and methods
- Safely operate equipment in the field including:
- Power hand tools
- Manual tools
- Must be an active and willing team member to insure quality service delivery to all clients
- Must have the ability to make recommendations in compliance with specifications, standards and codes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot electrical problems to determine the best procedures for repairing them.
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Rewire attics that contain knob and tube wiring.
- Determine material or tool requirements
- Develop specific goals and plan to prioritize, organize and accomplish your work.
- Act as a principle field and technical support contact.
- Ability to problem solve issues in accordance to specification and standards
- Other duties may be required.
