DESCRIPTION Position Summary:

The coordinator role will be focused on expanding children’s meals in the 9 county service area served by Philabundance. The coordinator will have an in-depth understanding of the demand for prepared children’s meals in our service area and assist in developing appropriate distribution channels to deliver meals prepared by the Philabundance Community Kitchen (PCK). PCK is a combined culinary arts workforce development and meal production program that has been helping underserved communities since 2000. The coordinator will work closely with PCK and ensure that all meal programs are integrated with current Kids programming and membership requirements. A focus on identifying areas of meal gaps in summer, after-school and daytime meal needs in both congregate and individual meal provider settings.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Specific Responsibilities:

  • Define the specific local needs around prepared meals for children in need
  • Maintain relationships with other organizations serving children in our service area
  • Develop collaborative programing with schools, social service agencies or other entities to provide nutritious meals prepared by PCK
  • Understand the nutrition standards by which PCK meals for children will be measured
  • Work with PCK chefs to develop budgets for potential meal contracts
  • Work with on-site feeders to understand and administer the CACFP or SFSP programs to secure maximum governmental revenue when available.
  • Remain up to date on government reimbursement programs and changes
  • Ensure a consistent feedback mechanism for PCK meals provided to the community
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • 1-3 years’ relevant work experience
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
    • Experience in implementing programs
    • Access to own reliable transportation
  • Ideal Candidate:
    • Bilingual (written and verbal)
    • Social service program experience preferred
    • Database software –Access, CRM
    • Willingness to work off site and/or in the field 2-4 days per week
