City Council Proposes To Make Office of Sustainability Permanent

December 17, 2013 – City Council introduced Charter Change legislation to make the Office of Sustainability permanent within city government.  Their action is a testament to the good work happening all across the city and the support felt from residents and businesses to advance our shared sustainability goals. Philadelphia has made tremendous progress over the past five years, but there is clearly so much more to do.

A hearing is planned for the spring. Please feel free to reach out to City Council members to voice your appreciation for their leadership.  Council members Blondell Reynolds Brown and Jim Kenney, the respective chair and co-chair of the Committee on the Environment are co-sponsors of the legislation.
